Edinburgh, Scotland - Sightseeing

story by: Inspire UK & Ireland

There is so much to see and do in Scotland and the Edinburgh region that you could become overwhelmed with choice.  To help narrow down your options if you only have a limited time available, at House of Travel we have put together some of our favourite attractions or visitor spots so you don't miss out on anything!

  • Edinburgh Hop on Hop Off Tour: Edinburgh is such a beautiful city but it has been know to rain from time to time. Do yourself a favour and jump on board the big red double decker bus.  This is the easiest way to see the city and its attractions.
  • Murder and Mystery Tour: As you wander through the dark allewyas and courtyards of the Old Town, you’ll hear tales of witchcraft, torture and hangings!  You’re bound to have a few scares as well as a few laughs as you journey through Edinburgh’s sinister past.
  • Jamies Scottish Evening: There’s nothing like a Highland Knees-up to get the blood pumping - except maybe a shot of single malt whisky. Now you can try them both at this banquet that’s full of bagpipes, fiddle music, dancing, songs and laughter - Slainte Mhath!
  • Edinburgh Military Tatoo: You’ll not see a greater massed pipe band display than this. With fireworks and fantastic international guests performing with the diving Edinburgh Castle as the backdrop, all too soon the end will be signified by the Lone Pipers stirring sounds.
  • The Scotch Whisky Experience: This swirling, bubbling interactive attraction brings 300 years of Scotch Whisky history to life. Scotch Whisky dates back to the 15th century and on the Whisky Heritage Tour you will learn the origins of Malt Whisky distilling in Scotland. To get you in the mood you will be offered a ‘wee dram’ of Scotch and you will discover the aromas and flavours that appeal to your palate.
