England Cottage Accommodation

story by: House of Travel

The best way to truly explore what England has to offer is to rent a house somewhere and live in a village as the locals do. The UK may not be very big compared with the rest of Europe but that compactness means that each region, from Cornwall to the Cotswolds, Somerset up to Scotland has a wide range of attractions within an easy driving radius.

You can find the sleep little town of lower Swell on the banks of the Ribver Dikler. Rent a cottage and you find that life here runs at a slower pace. Why not stop in for a pint of ale and chat with the locals at the Village In “the Golden Bally’ Or just 2 km away you’ll find the famous town of Stow-on the Wold - with its historic market square.

Lake District and Yorkshire Dales
Known as England’s book town, Sedbergh has loads of second hand bookshops. You’ll find it nestled just within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and it’s a great place to get away from the stresses and strains of modern life. The famous Lake District is only a short drive from Sedberghm, in fact you can be in Windermere in less than an hour.

The ancient farming hamlet of Warleggan is an ideal location for a cottage stayput holiday. Its tranquil location is perfect for walking cycling or a spot of golf. Close by is the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and several National Trust properties. A great day trip from here is a short drive north west to the village of Padstow, famous for its seafood restaurant owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein.
