Paris, France Highlights

story by: Inspire France & Italy

There is so much to see and do in France and the capital city of Paris that you could become overwhelmed with choice. To help narrow down your options if you only have a limited time available, at House of Travel we have put together some of our favourite attractions or visitor spots so you don't miss out on anything!
  • The Paris Museum Pass - This is a must have if you are going to be visiting any museums or monuments.  It gives you priority entry, allows multiple entries to museums and will certainly save you money. Available in 2, 4 or 6 day passes, speak to your House of Travel specialist for more information.
  • Canal St Martin - with its old iron footbridge, canal St Martin was made famous in the movie Amelie and is lined with cafes and restaurants and is a great place to hang out.
  • Tour Montparnasse - a great place for stunning views of Parish. Fromhere you can see all the major sights, and it is far less crowded than the Eiffel Tower.
  • Saint Chapelle – Not far from the Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle is a spectacular cathedral with the most amazing stained glass windows.
  • 3 prices to pay in france – At a café – stand at the bar like a local (the most economical), sit down inside the café and the price goes up, and if you sit outside on the footpath the cost is even higher, but worth it for the people watching.
  • Père-Lachaise cemetery – Said to be the world’s most visited graveyard and some of the most frequented graves are those of Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Chopin and Oscar Wilde
  • Get a free map on the way in at conservation office just inside the main entrance off Boulevard de Menilmontant.
  • Museums and Monuments – Most Museums and Monuments are free of charge on the first Sunday of each month.
