Frankfurt Sightseeing, Germany

story by: Inspire Central & Eastern Europe, & Scandinavia

There is so much to see and do in Germany and the city of Frankfurt that you could become overwhelmed with choice.  To help narrow down your options if you only have a limited time available, at House of Travel we have put together some of our favourite attractions or visitor spots so you don't miss out on anything.

Frankfurt City Tour. The city known as the financial hub of Europe, Frankfurt is first and foremost a business city, and with 1 in 3 people who live and work in the city not being German, this place has a very unique cultural flavour. You will discover this diversity reflected through the city’s many skyscrapers, being designed by Americans, Japanese, French and many more nationalities, each bringing a small flavour of their homeland to the city.

Heidelberg Tour. Regarded as one of Germany’s most beautiful cities, its old town streets hug the banks of the River Neckar. Mingle with the crowds along Hauptstraße or pull up a seat at one of the many street cafés or beer halls and let this city’s vibe wash over you. For some great cityscape snaps, head down to the Karl- Theodor Bridge and remember, don’t leave town without paying a visit to the mighty Heidelberg Castle.

Rothenburg Day Tour. One of the cutest medieval cities in all of Europe. Around every corner this walled village offers yet another impossibly quaint row of houses, wee village squares and an abundance of great restaurants. You can also find the Christmas museum here offering fantastic European decorations at all times of the year. And no visit is complete without sampling a schneeball... what’s a schneeball? Well best you go and find out.

Frankfurt Hop on Hop Off Tour. What better way to get yourself accustomed to a new city than to take a Hop on Hop off tour. That way you can do the loop visiting many of Frankfurt’s top attractions - then have the opportunity to go back to the places that interested you the most! The buses run on a regular timetable throughout the week - making it easier to plan out your own itinerary and ensure you get the most out of your holiday.
