Amalfi Coast, Italy - Highlights

story by: Inspire France & Italy

Capri Take the short boat ride from Sorrento over to this island steeped in myths and Roman history. Head to Piccola Marina from Capri Town itself.  You will follow winding lanes then wander down a precipitous flight of steps to la Canzone del Mare perched right by the seaside.  It’s iconic in that it has been visited by Capri’s rich and famous for many years.

Ravello Enjoy the tranquillity of Ravello’s exquisite gardens and immerse yourself in the local seaside life.  Villa Rufolo was built on an existing Roman structure and has a 30 metre high tower that overlooks Piazza Duomo.  The superb terrace garden overlooking the sea is where, every year in July, the famous Wagner Symphonic Music Festival takes place.

Furore This tiny village is an excellent base from which to tackle Amalfi Coast walks with intriguing names like The Fishing Vixen. A cluster of old fishermen houses look like they have been glued to the cliffs.  This is a dramatic and unique part of the Armalfi Coast.

Walking Tour take a walking adventure along a web of ancient pathways winding along shoreline cliffs from coastal towns through rustic woodland and up to beautiful villages perched on craggy peaks.  This is where you can go beyond the crowds and experience the hidden treasures and authentic culture – just make sure you are reasonably fit!

Limoncello the golden treasure of Amalfi.  Locals affectionately call it sunshine wine and serve it chilled, like summer champagne.  Walk the streets of Amalfi, from the bustling tourist district to the small villages dotting the coastline and you will see dozens of shops displaying beautifully shaped bottles of homemade limoncello.
