The major trading banks have ‘travel cards’ which can be used overseas. Check with your bank for details of their ‘travel cards’ and terms and conditions.

Credit Cards

• Credit cards are handy as you don't have to carry large amounts of cash around with you (take out just enough for each day) or spend your precious vacation time changing travellers cheques.
• Check with your ‘credit card’ provider for their terms and conditions for use of their cards overseas.
• In particular should your card become lost or stolen it is imperative that you report the loss immediately to your credit card provider, to protect yourself from the cost of unauthorised use.
• Typically overseas credit card transactions result in charges to your credit card account, again check with your credit card provider prior to travel to so you are aware of these before you incur them.
