The islands of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora may be the rockstars of French Polynesia, but there are plenty of other up-and-coming acts that offer the same spectacular scenery, intoxicating blend of French and Polynesian culture and laidback lifestyle.

Islands like Huahine are rugged remnants of ancient volcanoes that are hemmed by coral reefs, still relatively untouched and incredibly picturesque. Then there are the vast coral atolls like Tikehau, an almost unbroken circle that stretches almost 26 kilometres across. Unique for its pink sand beaches and fabulous snorkelling, its lagoon contains the most
fish of any Polynesian atoll.

Each island offers something individual and unique: in Taha’a, it’s fragrant vanilla, whilst Manihi is the main source of Tahiti’s famed black pearls. With such variety, abundance and natural beauty, you’ll find yourself drawn back to these islands again and again.
