Chances are you’ve always thought of Nadi as nothing more than the place where planes come and go, and where you’re occasionally required to spend a night before transferring to somewhere more salubrious: certainly not a destination in its own right. Maybe it’s time you had a closer look. Nadi Town itself is a buzzing hive of colourful shops and restaurants – the perfect place to pick up souvenirs, presents for the folks at home (locally-made coconut skincare products are always a big hit) or supplies for your holiday (fruit so fresh it’s practically still growing!). Spend a little time browsing the markets among the locals, then maybe squeeze in a visit to the colourful Hindu Temple – it’s quite spectacular. Just 20 minutes from all the world-class facilities of Denarau Island (think golf, tennis, spa treatments...), and Denarau Marina (island visits, diving trips, snorkelling trips), Nadi makes a great base for short stays - well worth spending an extra night or two.
