As host for alpine and Nordic events at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Whistler clearly has world class credentials for the quality of its skiing and snowboarding. Whistler and Blackcomb mountains have more than 200 marked trails between them – paradise for lovers of winter sports.

However, this resort is a destination for all seasons. When the snows have gone, out come the mountain-bikers to tackle the adrenaline-pumping rides in North America’s largest bike park and golfers head for scenic championship courses. Try ziplining above the forests, hiking in the wilderness or take it gently and board a gondola or chairlift for panoramic views of glacier-topped mountains and alpine lakes.

Whistler Village’s après ski scene matches its world-class ski runs and boasts a vast array of restaurants and boutiques, some specialising in First Nation art and jewellery
