• Jasper National Park is the largest National Park in Canada.
• Population of Jasper is approx 5,000 permanent residents. There is a “Right to Reside” law which limits growth and development within a National Park.
• Lake Louise’s vibrant colour is due to fine particles suspended in the glacier waters.
• Lake Louise is the third name given to the lake. The “Lake of Little Fishes” (HO-RUNNUM-NAY in Stoney) was the first name given by the First Nations people.
• Banff National Park was the first NP in Canada & is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Banff township sits at an elevation of 1,383m making it the highest in Canada.
