Singapore Travel Guide Known as the ‘gateway to Asia’, Singapore is a vibrant tropical city. It is world renowned for its shopping, eateries, attractions, style and cleanliness. Whether you’re here for two days or ten, you’ll find no trip to the ‘Lion City’ is ever the same. Not many cities in Asia can boast Singapore’s fascinating ethnic mix. Throughout history migration has left its stamp on the city’s culture. Visit the bright sari and bangle stores in the old shop houses of Little India, in Chinatown explore the many antique stores or bargain hunt for silk. For the shop-aholics, Orchard Road is a must; the bargains, variety and quality here will leave you spoilt for choice. Allow plenty of time, as you’ll be lucky to see half of it in a day. For fabulous open air dining you must visit the Singapore River at Clarke or Boat Quay. Open well into the night, there is an excellent selection of local cuisine, as well as international eateries and plenty of great bars and clubs to party the night away. For the legendary Singapore experience you can’t leave without heading to Raffles Hotel for High Tea or a Singapore Sling; an experience that carries with it generations of colonial history and tradition. Whether you come to Singapore to relax, shop, stopover or just to sample Asia, you’ll not be disappointed. |
