HOT Otago blog

Along with our colleagues in our other Otago stores, we've shared some of favourite travel experiences on our HOT Otago Blog.

EXPLORING THE MALACCA STRAIT
Tony Boomer on a cruise, yeah right! Constant exposure to, quite frankly, astounding ships visiting Dunedin prompted him to take the plunge and head off to Singapore on Air New Zealand and Princess Cruises to take in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Phuket aboard the Sapphire Princess.

DON'T EAT THE BREAD!
Italy for most is a dream destination, so when Antony Boomer was offered the chance to spend 10 days here as part of a Trafalgar guided holiday he jumped at the chance without actually knowing where exactly he was going... it was Italy, it'll be good!

VIETNAM WITH THE KIDS

I have been wanting to take my boys somewhere extraordinary for ages. We have previously traveled, as a family, well worn routes through North America and Australia. Now my wife and I thought it was time to challenge everything they thought they knew about the world. We decided on Vietnam in the hope it would provide a physical, emotional and sensory experience the boys would never forget.

Hospice New Zealand

House of Travel Otago has been supporting Hospice New Zealand since 2005 and the organisation is very close to our hearts. Each of our stores work with their local hospice services to support them by raising money and awareness, volunteering their time for fundraising, and donating prizes and “Armchair Traveller” sessions. A highlight of this partnership is the Embrace Award presented annually to a HOT outlet who has integrated its local hospice into every aspect of its business. The award is the hospice’s way of giving big ups to its local House of Travel Otago team for all their hard work and dedication.

Testimonials

  • "Dear Janette. Just a note to thank you very much for your help with our travel arrangements to and from UK. We are both back in Wanaka and all the travel arrangements, changes and upgrade requests you attended to, worked perfectly. Thank you for your help with the amendments to my original travel plan which made it seamless for me at a stressful time with my family. I haven't used a travel agent for a number of years but this experience has reminded me of all the benefits and advantages of having someone with the necessary expertise at your finger tips. It is certainly a less stressful way of travelling! Kind regards and my thanks, Sue"
