Itinerary
Day 1: London – Aberystwyth
Journey to William Shakespeare’s Birthplace and home town, Stratford on Avon. After lunch travel west through the Welsh Marches marked out by the ancient Offa’s Dyke. Then into the heart of the Cambrian Mountains and Elan Valley. Stay the next 2 nights at the seaside town of Aberystwyth.

Day 2: Aberystwyth
Travel north into the mountainous region of the Snowdonia National Park and the mountain village of Beddgelert then out to the coast to Criccieth and a fine castle once belonging to a Welsh Prince. Spend the afternoon visiting Porthmadog, home of the Ffestingog light railway and over the Cob causeway to the castle at Harlech, part of a set that ring the north Wales coastline.

Day 3: Aberystwyth – Tenby
Drive around the coast of Cardigan Bay to New Quay then inland to find gold at the Dolaucothi mine which dates back to Raman times. Head over the Black Mountains and back to the coast at Laugharne and onto the small, picturesque seaside town of Tenby.

Day 4: Tenby
Explore the magical south west of the country, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Pembroke, St Davids, Strumble Head and Presili Hills, the source of the blue stones of Stonehenge.

Day 5: Tenby - London
On the journey back to London stop at the National History Museum in Cardiff and the well preserved Roman Fortress at Caerleon. Travel over the Severn Estuary bridge into England where you will take a final break at Castle Combe, a quintessentially Cotswold village.
