Itinerary  
Day 1 - Sat Moscow
Independent arrival into Moscow.  You will be met and transferred to your hotel.  Overnight Moscow.
   
Day 2 - Sun Moscow
Join your fellow travellers for an out of town excursion to Gorki Leninskiye, located 30 km south of Moscow and often referred to as 'Lenin's dacha'. The country estate was established in the 18th century and belonged to various noblemen. It was nationalised in 1918 and used primarily as a sanatorium. Vladimir Lenin convalesced there after the assassination attempt on him in 1918 and 
continued to spend more and more time there, including the last ten months of his life. The estate was converted into a museum in 1938. It houses many of Lenin's possessions, including his personal car – a 
Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost adapted for snow conditions. After lunch, return to Moscow for your city tour covering the major landmarks. Overnight Moscow.  (Breakfast & Lunch included)
   
Day 3 - Mon Moscow

This morning, take a walking tour of Moscow's Kremlin grounds. See Cathedral Square – a breathtaking architectural ensemble from the 15th to 17th centuries, the Tsar's Bell and Cannon, political and governmental buildings and the Kremlin walls and towers. Visit the State Armoury, with a unique collection of crown jewels, gems, thrones, Fabergé Eggs and coronation robes. Afternoon tour of the Moscow Metro. Go underground for a grand display of marble, mosaics, chandeliers and sculpture. Stroll through the Arbat pedestrian zone with its many cafes and souvenir shops. Overnight Moscow. Day 4 - Tue Moscow - St. Petersburg
After breakfast, check out of your hotel for a visit to the State Tretyakov Art Gallery to view its collection of art that traces Russian culture from the 11th to 19th centuries. This afternoon you will be 
transferred to the railway station to join your Sapsan train departing at 4.30 pm for your 4-hour journey to St. Petersburg. Overnight St. Petersburg.  (Breakfast included)
   
Day 5 - Wed St. Petersburg

Your tour will introduce you to the highlights of this beautiful northern city. Drive along fashionable Nevsky Prospekt, the main thorough fare of St. Petersburg, lined with 18th century palaces, shops 
and restaurants. See magnificent Palace Square, the third largest in the world, flanked by the Triumphal Arch, General Staff building and Winter Palace complex, and Smolny Cathedral. In the afternoon visit Peter & Paul Fortress, the site chosen by Peter the Great in 1703 as the foundation of St. Petersburg. All the  Russian emperors since Peter the Great are buried here, including the last Tsar, 
Nicholas II and his family. Overnight St. Petersburg.  (Breakfast included)
 
Day 6 - Thu St. Petersburg

After breakfast, visit the State Hermitage Museum. Housed in five buildings on the Neva Embankment, the Hermitage Museum boasts a massive collection of more than 3 million items. Afternoon free. Overnight St. Petersburg.  (Breakfast included)
                     
Day 7 - Fri St. Petersburg
This morning, visit the town of Pushkin, previously known as Tsars' Village. It was the main summer residence of the Imperial Family from the 18th century to the fall of the monarchy in 1917. Visit 
Catherine's Palace, one of the finest examples of Russian Baroque architecture. Overnight St. Petersburg.  (Breakfast included)
   
Day 8 - Sat St. Petersburg
Tour services end after breakfast, with a transfer to the airport or rail station. (Breakfast included)
