story by: Inspire Australia

Visiting Aboriginal locations set in the exquisite Outback, you will learn from your hosts local knowledge of creation stories, indigenous art, wildlife, bush tucker, medicine, artefacts and hunting utensils. This safari encompasses the raw Australian Outback – exclusive bush tracks, remote bush camping, campfire cooking and sleeping under the clear southern skies.

Day 1: Alice Springs – Rainbow Valley
Departing Alice Springs you’ll spend the next two days visiting a collection of Aboriginal Communities, outstations, art galleries and bush food producers. This tour will reveal the day-to-day lives of local Aboriginal people, while showcasing their land and the deep connection they have with it. Late in the afternoon you’ll arrive at Rainbow Valley in time to watch the spectacular sunset. This place is one of Australia’s most picturesque sunset locations, and the colours illuminating this stunning rock feature will amaze you. Spend the night at a remote private campsite, and after a meal cooked over the campfire, settle down into your Aussie swag for a night under the southern stars.

Day 2: Rainbow Valley – Alice Springs
Up with the birds, the sunrise colours on the surrounding countryside will astound you. Visit the art site of Rainbow Valley, never before open to the public, and learn of the cultural significance of this ancient landscape. Travel along the Hugh River Stock Route towards Oak Valley where red kangaroo, euro, wild camels and horses can be seen. Oak Valley is an inspirational working community boasting an olive plantation, rock carvings, paintings and an ancient fossil field.
