Fiji Weddings Legal Requirements

• Original (or certified copy) birth certificate
• Valid passport(s) including valid visitors permit if required
• Must provide the documents to the registrar at least two weeks before intended date of marriage
• Two witnesses who are 21 years of age and over must be present
• Required to sign a marriage licence at the marriage registry at least three days prior to the marriage ceremony
• The legal age of consent to marry is 18 years of age
• If divorced, a copy of the Decree Absolute is required
• If previous spouse is deceased, a copy of the death certificate is required
