Life at House of Travel

So what is life really like at HOT?  It’s pretty great actually!

We work in an industry that fulfils travel dreams - how exciting is that?  We are hard-working, dedicated and passionate. We inspire “How Kiwis see the World,” and we have a lot of fun along the way!

If you are looking for a highly structured corporate organisation then we are not for you!  However, if you are looking to be a part of a high energy, innovative, fast-paced business where your ideas and contributions really matter, then HOT could be your perfect fit.

But we are not only committed to the happiness and success of our staff, as a Kiwi owned and operated business, we’re also devoted to the local communities we are located in, proactively getting involved in supporting local schools, businesses and community causes.

How do we celebrate success?

One of the cool things about HOT is that we love to recognise the success of our people and we know how to celebrate!

You will regularly hear the clink of glasses and get a whiff of pizza for our Friday night drinks. We have an ‘any excuse for cake’ culture - any reason to celebrate will do!

All our teams have their own unique way of celebrating success, but once a year we all come together to acknowledge the achievements within the HOT family. The annual conference and awards is the date for your calendar. From motivational speakers, to great entertainment, rewards and recognition, fantastic prizes and delicious wine and food, this event has it all!

Don’t believe us?  Check out some of the photos from our latest HOT conference.

For a more regular fun fix, we have House Proud - a regular round up of what has been happening at HOT, including local awards, engagement news, marriages, beautiful baby pictures of potential future HOTTIES and  sporting and special events. This covers everything we have been busy doing.

House Proud is about our people for our people, so no surprises that it is the HOT team that contributes the great reads and fun photos.

Active HOTTIES

At HOT we believe it is important to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle (when we are not eating cake!) and quite a few of our HOTTIES not only work together, but also train together.

Across the country we have HOTTIES who compete in triathlons, mountain and road biking, touch rugby, netball and marathons in Auckland, Christchurch, Rotorua and even New York! We actively encourage our teams to participate, but if this is not your thing, then that’s OK!

HOT has a national agreement with Les Mills to keep those of us that want to keep in shape the help and tools we need to do so.
