Here are some guidelines on how to best view the House of Travel website
     using Internet Explorer
:

Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and 7.0 are supported by houseoftravel.co.nz

How to check your browser version - using Internet Explorer

At the top of your browser window, select Help and choose the
    About Internet Explorer option:

A new window will appear and the details will show near the top and directly under a logo
and the title that reads “Microsoft Internet Explorer“. The number immediately following the
word “Version“ gives the version number you are operating. If you cannot locate this
information in this way, it is likely you are not operating Microsoft Internet Explorer

   Known Issues

Recent testing and customer feedback has highlighted some issues for Mac users running
Internet Explorer (IE) (even after enabling all pop ups) In June 2003, the Microsoft Macintosh
Business Unit announce that Internet Explorer for Mac would undergo no further development,
and support would cease in 2005. Therefore we no longer are able to support Mac users running
    Internet Explorer.

Safari is not a supported browser at this stage. Mac users should use Firefox when using
houseoftravel.co.nz, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause

If you are having difficulties searching for flights and viewing our website generally,
please Contact us and we will help you complete your enquiry, search or booking. If you are
using the system settings and browsers specified above, but are still having problems on the
houseoftravel.co.nz website, you may have software on your computer that bloxks pop-ups,
or has disabled JavaScript or active scripting. High computer security settings may also disable
the search functionality for you. See the below 'Some help with your computer settings'
    section for more information

Some help with your computer settings

    Active Scripting (Java Scripting)

Within your browser, security settings control “scripting“ and disabling these functions limits the
ability for some of the website to run e.g. the searching functionality.

    1. To check active scripting settings on an Internet Explorer browser: On the browser toolbar,
select Tools, then Internet Options... (or Options on older browsers)

    2. The Internet Options window will appear. Select the Security tab. Select the Internet
“globe“ icon and then click the Custom Level button.

    3. Scroll through all of the options until you reach the Scripting section and enable the options
for Active Scripting and Allow paste operations via script by clicking on the appropriate
check box. Then click the OK button to close these options

    4. If your browser does not have these options or similar words, search on the word “security“
in your browsers “Help“ section, accessed via the toolbar. Settings and the controls for active
scripting will normally be indexed in/by security content

   POP UPS

Some Pop up disablers (software installed on the PC or packaged with browsers e.g.
XP Service Pack 2) may also cause some functionality on the site not to work.

To change these Pop-up Blocker settings using Internet Explorer

1.To check pop-up settings on an Internet Explorer browser: On the browser toolbar, select
Tools, then Internet Options... (or Options on older browsers).

    2. The Internet Options window will appear. Click on the Privacy tab. To allow pop-ups
make sure the check box beside the text “Block pop-ups” is empty. If you want to block pop-ups,

that a pop-up has been blocked. Then click Temporarily Allow Pop-ups. If you are using
Windows XP then the following window may appear:

This window indicates that you are currently blocking pop-ups. Click in the box before the text
“Do not show this message again.“ and then click the OK button (or simply click OK) to close
    the window

Pop Ups using the Google Toolbar
If you are using the Google toolbar and have an onscreen image like the one below you may be
blocking pop ups from the website.

The pop-up blocker is available only for Internet Explorer version 5.5 and later.

If you would like to use the House of Travel website we recommend the following options:

  • To let a pop-up through on a one-time basis, press and hold the CTRL key as you click on a
link to navigate to a new page.
  • To remove the pop-up blocker for the House of Travel site permanently you can either
add our site (automatically) to the “white list“ - sites that have pop-ups that you want to see.
Do this by going to www.houseoftravel.co.nz and clicking the pop-up blocker button
(the whitelist is never actually displayed)

  • To completely disable the pop-up blocker, click on the Options button to open the
Toolbar Options window. In the Accessories section un-tick the box beside the text
    “Pop-up Blocker“.
